Overview:
Acklam Green Centre, Middlesbrough:
A two-phase project, the community centre in Acklam Green formed part of the Whinney Banks regeneration undertaken by the West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust.
Phase I was the provision of all-weather sports pitches and permeable-paved parking and hard-standing and was funded by the Barclays “Spaces for Sport” programme. Phase 2 provided changing facilities, a multi-purpose performance space, youth facilities, office space, gym, a doctor’s surgery and a café in an open, welcoming three storey building.
