CEIS Northumbria University Feasibility

Overview:

Northumbria University sought ideas for a potential review of the Pandon Building to create a focus building for the School of CEIS (Computing, Engineering and Information Technologies).

We proposed two options for over-cladding the existing brick skin and windows; one utilising fins and one with a pixel-based design. Both designs adjusted the entry to connect better with the pedestrian routes to the building especially from the main city campus the other side of the nearby footbridge. Both schemes completely re-arranged the internal layout of the building and aimed to develop the exterior into an eye-catching advertisement for the University in the neighbourhood and to passing cars on the central motorway.
