Northumbria University Library Extension

Northumbria University’s city campus library was extended to provide more computer spaces and a brighter, more welcoming place to work. The existing first floor room was opened up through to an existing adjacent room, previously part of the Art School, and a large square was recessed into the roof allowing light to flood down into the space below.

The new space was laid out to form clearly defined work, information/ help, and relaxation areas.
